Competing on the WQS requires a lot of commitment. You not only have to give up a lot of time from your home and loved ones, but most of the events are held in super sketchy locations, where being in the water is more dangerous than being in the bad areas of town. Even growing up in the shark bite capital of the world leaves you helpless against some of the sea creatures in countries like Australia and South Africa.
